The Health & Care Forum is a collaboration of influential health and care organisations, bringing together policymakers, charities and front-line professionals to discuss the future of health and care in the UK.
Launched in 2016, The Health & Care Forum has become one of the most prestigious heath and care events at party conference. With parliamentarians, health and care colleagues, charities and other stakeholders in attendance, the Forum is a chance to discuss and share ideas with a wide cross-section of policymakers and professionals working on the front line.

Roche
The Health & Care Forum is run in partnership with Roche
At Roche UK, we focus our energy and investment in developing tests and treatments that change lives and give us more quality time with the people we love. And, together with others, we’re solving healthcare’s greatest challenges; helping to achieve better results by connecting early diagnosis to targeted treatment and ongoing support. Healthcare matters to all of us. That’s why we work hard to ensure that all our new medicines are made available to those who need them through the NHS – wherever they live, whatever their circumstances. In 2020, more than 820 million Roche diagnostic tests were used to confirm, rule out or manage health conditions and over 712,000 patients benefited from our medicines and diabetes monitoring and insulin delivery system. During this period, we contributed £1.26bn to the UK economy, supporting over 21,000 jobs. Proud of what we do, we’re here because we care. In the UK we employ over 2,000 brilliant specialists who work together to transform the lives of patients and their loved ones. That’s what makes us who we are. That’s what makes us Roche UK.

AstraZeneca
AstraZeneca is the UK’s leading biopharmaceutical company. Headquartered in Cambridge, we have grown to not only become one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, but also one of the largest companies by market capitalisation on the FTSE 100. We have new ambitions to deliver further sustained growth by 2030, but above all, we remain committed to transforming the future of healthcare by unlocking the power of what science can do for people, society and the planet. Across the UK, we are contributing to local economies by investing in science and research, providing high quality employment, and developing the next generation of talent for the life sciences sector. Most importantly, we are delivering medicines and serving patients across the country, such as those living with cancer, diabetes, and rare diseases. None of this would be possible without the world-class science that exists in Britain, with its track record of innovation, globally-leading universities, and an exceptional skills base of talented researchers. Collaboration between industry, government and the NHS can ensure that Britain’s life sciences sector thrives in the 2020s and beyond. The UK will play a vital role in delivering on AstraZeneca’s ambitions to deliver sustained industryleading growth, 20 new medicines and to halve our Scope 3 emissions across our entire value chain by 2030. This report details our impact across the UK: AstraZeneca’s contributions to the economy, our cutting-edge medical research, and our investments in sustainability, training and community initiatives. It also discusses the UK’s strengths as a destination for life sciences, as well as the challenges for the sector over the next decade.

Ranked 24 in Europe and 15th in the UK by the QS World University Rankings: Europe 2024, the University of Nottingham is a founding member of Russell Group of research-intensive universities. Studying at the University of Nottingham is a life-changing experience, and we pride ourselves on unlocking the potential of our students. We have a pioneering spirit, expressed in the vision of our founder Sir Jesse Boot, which has seen us lead the way in establishing campuses in China and Malaysia - part of a globally connected network of education, research and industrial engagement. Nottingham was crowned Sports University of the Year by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024 – the third time it has been given the honour since 2018 – and by the Daily Mail University Guide 2024. The University is among the best universities in the UK for the strength of our research, positioned seventh for research power in the UK according to REF 2021. The birthplace of discoveries such as MRI and ibuprofen, our innovations transform lives and tackle global problems such as sustainable food supplies, ending modern slavery, developing greener transport, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The University is a major employer and industry partner - locally and globally - and our graduates are the third most targeted by the UK's top employers, according to The Graduate Market in 2024 report by High Fliers Research. We lead the Universities for Nottingham initiative, in partnership with Nottingham Trent University, a pioneering collaboration between the city’s two world-class institutions to improve levels of prosperity, opportunity, sustainability, health and wellbeing for residents in the city and region we are proud to call home.
